A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 C of C) £150 

Our A2 CofC course is available in addition to our industry leading Remote Pilot Competency Certification (GVC) course.

This course will enable the holder to competently operate within the A2 category of the new regulations, and within congested areas (closer to people) down to reduced distances regardless of whether the operation is commercial or recreational.

The A2 category allows you to ‘fly closer to people’ if you hold an A2 Certificate of Competency and are flying a C2 class aircraft or if your aircraft has a weight of less than 2 kg.

The Transitional Arrangement for 'Legacy Aircraft' (Aircraft you already own)

Until the C2 rated aircraft are released there is an arrangement for transitional aircraft of between 250g and 500g (Mavic mini or Parrot Anafi) maximum take of mass to fly closer to uninvolved people, but you cannot overfly them. Aircraft with a larger mass than this up to 2KG (Mavic 2 Size) may also be flown in this category with an A2 CofC but you will need to maintain separation of at least 50M from uninvolved persons (much like the current PfCO)
